DJ
Alan Anderson
first dipped his comedic toe at
the city's famous Murphy's Malarkey in 1999. Soon he was supporting Peter Kay,
then later was asked to run comedy gigs at bars where he was
regularly DJing.
Alan hosts the heats & semi-finals for the annual Scottish Comedian of the Year competition and comperes the resultant SCOTY showcase tour Triple Scotch. He regularly comperes at many of the UK's top comedy venues, in shows that have featured Johnny Vegas, Bernard Manning, Peter Kay, Ross Noble & Jimmy Carr. In 2005 & 2008 Alan performed in Dubai and across the UAE. In 2008 Alan toured Australia, headlining a series of gigs across the continent. Most match days Alan can be found hosting lunchtime corporate gigs at some of Scotland's main sporting grounds. Frequently Alan can be found entertaining inmates and screws at comedy shows in several of Scotland's HM Prisons. |
A keen tri-athlete Alan is the preferred commentator for the Scottish Triathlon Championships, British Youth Championships and British Sprint Triathlon Championships and also commentated at the Corus Elite event at Strathclyde Park which was filmed for Channel 4. Alan is the Scottish 1/4 of the Laughing
Lions Rugby Sketch troupe, which as you guessed features a Scottish comic,
English comic, Irish comic & a Welsh whinger. The boys take their
irreverent views on rugby to clubs across the UK. |
