Whether he likes it or not Alan Anderson is now one of the old boys of Scottish Comedy. Just like the whisky he talks about in his Edinburgh Fringe shows, Alan Anderson has matured into one of the most reliable and palatable comedians in Scotland. Yes his style can initially seem a bit harsh, but he always leaves audiences with a warm glow inside.

2011 & 2012 have seen Alan Anderson tour his Whisky For Dafties show across the UK, Australia, Ireland and Scandanavia to sell out audiences.

Although a regular compere on the comedy club circuit, most of Alan's work is performing after dinner at corporate events and sportsman's dinners or taking on the hosting duties at industry awards ceremonies.

Alan hosts the heats & semi-finals for the annual Scottish Comedian of the Year competition and comperes the resultant Best of SCOTY showcase tour and Edinburgh Fringe shows at The Underbelly. He regularly comperes at many of the UK's top comedy venues, in shows that have featured Johnny Vegas, Bernard Manning, Peter Kay, Ross Noble & Jimmy Carr.

Most match days Alan can be found hosting lunchtime corporate gigs at some of Scotland's main sporting grounds.

A keen cyclist and tri-athlete Alan has been the event commentator for the Tweed Love cycling festival, the British Triathlon Championshsips, Scottish Triathlon Championships, British Youth Championships and British Sprint Triathlon Championships.

"Alan's talent and experience immediately shone through as he worked the crowd" Manchester Comedy Online

Whilst studying Architecture at the University of Manchester DJ Alan Anderson first dipped his comedic toe at the city's famous Murphy's Malarkey in 1999. Soon he was asked to run & compere comedy gigs at bars where he was regularly DJing, including the now legendry Bar 41 gigs in Altrincham. It was at Bar 41 Alan Carr perfromed his 3rd gig, his first paid gig and his first headline spot. Other notablee acts at those gigs include Adam Hills, Andrew Maxwell, Chris Addison, John Bishop, Johnny Vegas, Matt Horne, Russel Howard and Ross Noble.

A former DJ at Manchester's legendary Hacienda, nowadays Alan can often be found filling dance floors at corporate events and weddings, laying down the finest selection of deep-filled Camembert cheesy floor fillers - with mashups guaranteed to make you, your mum and your boss cheer, not cringe.
